, secretary of state hillary clinton is under observation at new york -- at a new york city hospital today. her spokesman says she was admitted sunday for a blood clot stemming from the concussion she sustained during a recent bout with the stomach flu. nbc's chief science and health correspondent bob bazell is at new york presbyterian hospital where secretary clinton is being treated. bob, i know this is a story we're all keeping a very close eye on. what's the latest? we know she has a blood clot that came from -- they say from the concussion. we know it's being treated with anti-coagulant drugs. a lot of doctors are puzzled by that series of events because most blood clots that come from a concussion would be in the brain, and they would not be treated with anti-coagulamt drugs. we don't know where it is or what her condition is. there's been no report about what her health status is other than she's under observation for these two days. there's a lot of puzzles here. a lot of people are hoping for the best, but clearly somebody doesn't come into the hospital over -- in the holiday berd

was there, he helped remember her. we're told daniel barden's funeral this morning, like so many little boys wanted to grow up to be a firefighter. members of the fire department in new york city decided to show up in full uniform, active and retired, they paid tribute. three students, victoria soto's funeral and dawn hochsprung, the courageous principal we found out after the fact lunged at the shooter. she's being remembered tonight. her burial will also be private. we're told that arne duncan, the secretary of education, is also in newtown today. he is spending some time talking to teachers, spending some time talking to families as well. the focus now, of course, shifting to the elementary school and when those students are going to go back to school. we found out earlier today they are going to resume classes, the sandy hook elementary school students, that is, on january 2nd. all the other students in town started yesterday. when they go back to school on january 2nd, they will be at chalk hill middle school, and the principal at that school will be a very familiar face to folks here,
